Can outdoor activity be combined with practical knowledge on how to improve quality of life in the city? The field game 'Let's put an end to this shame' proves that environmental education can be engaging, dynamic and full of energy. Organised as part of EU Green Week, the event reflects this year's theme – an economy in harmony with nature – highlighting that clean air is a key pillar of sustainable development and a fundamental condition for thriving natural ecosystems.
Participants will follow a trail around the Pruszowiec pond, searching for hidden clues and solving environmental challenges along the way. Each stage of the game will focus on real-life issues related to air protection and current regulations that directly affect residents, making the connection between individual decisions and the health of the shared natural environment tangible and immediate.
During the game, participants will face questions related to the anti-smog resolution, including deadlines for replacing inefficient heating sources, as well as the rules for submitting declarations to the Central Emissions Register of Buildings (CEEB). Tasks will require not only knowledge, but also logical thinking and teamwork.
The game will demonstrate that decisions made at the household level have a direct impact on air quality, public health and the functioning of the local economy. Participants will learn why investing in energy-efficient solutions, reducing emissions and using resources responsibly is not only an obligation, but also one of the most accessible and high-impact ways that citizens can invest in nature, protecting the air, soils and ecosystems on which healthy communities depend.
Thanks to its interactive format, the event creates a space for active participation, community integration and hands-on learning. Participants will discover that improving air quality starts with concrete actions and informed everyday choices, and that each household decision to reduce emissions is a direct contribution to the restoration and protection of the natural environment.
The event highlights that ecological transformation requires the involvement of the entire community, and that education is one of the most important tools for building responsible attitudes and a modern, environmentally friendly economy – one in which citizens understand their role as active stewards of and investors in the natural world around them.
The event is implemented as part of the project 'Silesia. Blue Sky Restored'.
