‘The green breath of the library’ workshops

  • Training and workshops

Can a small plant placed on a desk make a difference for people's health and the environment? During the workshop 'Breathe green', participants will discover that green plants are not only decoration but also a meaningful investment in nature — and an important element of the spaces where we live, learn and work.

The meeting at the library will turn into a green laboratory of everyday solutions, where children and young people will explore the role of plants in creating a healthy indoor microclimate. Participants will learn how the presence of plants in schools, homes and workplaces can improve comfort, concentration and air quality.

The workshop will also introduce the idea of the green economy, which increasingly uses solutions inspired by nature. Participants will learn about investing in nature - from greenery in buildings and urban gardens to green walls and other nature-positive solutions that support healthy and environmentally friendly learning and working environments. In this way, they will see how plants can become part of modern approaches to urban development and spatial design.

During the practical part of the workshop, participants will create their own mini gardens in pots, learning the basics of planting and caring for indoor plants. The plants they prepare themselves will become a symbol of a small but meaningful investment in nature — one that anyone can start in their own home or classroom.

The activities will also include interactive challenges and short educational games showing how everyday consumer choices, the way we arrange our living spaces and care for greenery can influence the environment and quality of life in our communities.

The workshop 'Breathe green' demonstrates that building a nature-positive economy does not always begin with large-scale investments. Sometimes it begins with a small plant, a bit of knowledge and the curiosity to imagine a greener world around us.

The event is implemented as part of the project 'Silesia. Blue Sky Restored.'

Host: Aneta Furtacz, eco-manager of the Siewierz Municipality.
