Green night of light: eco wreaths 2026

  • Conferences and summits

Can tradition inspire a modern approach to the environment and the economy? The event ‘Green night of light: eco wreaths 2026’ will show that the answer is yes. This unique gathering, organised as part of Green Week during the ‘Kroczyce Wreaths’ celebration, will combine local cultural heritage with current challenges related to environmental protection and sustainable development.

The first part of the event will have an educational and advisory character. In a specially prepared zone, participants will be able to benefit from the knowledge of an eco-manager and learn about practical, nature-based solutions supporting everyday life in line with an environmentally friendly economy. Topics will include energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, resource savings and opportunities to obtain funding for nature-positive actions. The meeting will create space for discussion on how individual decisions of residents fit into the broader context of economic transformation and how investing in nature at the local level contributes to a healthier environment for the whole community.

At the same time, a dedicated activity zone for children will be available, where through engaging educational activities the youngest participants will learn about the relationships between people, the environment and natural resources. Play will become a tool for building environmental awareness and responsible attitudes.

After dark, the event will move to the water, where participants will take part in the symbolic tradition of releasing wreaths made from natural materials. Light and sound will create a space for reflection on the relationship between humans and nature and on the importance of protecting and restoring the natural systems that sustain us. This moment will become a shared experience, combining tradition with the idea of responsible stewardship of the living world.

The finale of the event will take the form of an artistic light show inspired by the elements of nature. Illuminations in shades of green and blue, reflected in the water, will highlight the message of Green Week 2026, that the future of the economy is rooted in harmony with nature, innovation and the conscious choices of local communities.

The event shows that investing in nature and building a relationship with the environment can be not only a necessity but also an inspiring shared experience.

The event is implemented as part of the LIFE project ‘Silesia. Blue Sky Restored’.

Host: Aneta Szczechla, eco-manager of the Kroczyce Municipality.
