GreenHack 2026: Sustainability Hackathon

GreenHack 2026 is an international, public-facing innovation event taking place on 5-6 June 2026 in Prague, organised as part of EU Green Week. The event explores how investing in nature can be translated into practical, scalable solutions through collaboration between technology, business and society.

The core of the event is a hands-on hackathon where interdisciplinary teams of developers, designers, students and researchers work on real-world sustainability challenges provided by partners from industry and the public sector. These challenges focus on areas such as climate resilience, sustainable resource management, biodiversity protection and nature-based solutions supported by data and AI.

GreenHack aims to move beyond discussion and enable the creation of tangible prototypes and concepts that demonstrate how environmental investments can drive innovation, economic value and long-term societal benefits.

To ensure strong alignment with EU Green Week’s mission of raising awareness and fostering dialogue, the event also includes public programme elements such as opening talks, expert inputs and a final demo session where teams present their solutions to a broader audience of stakeholders, including policymakers, companies and the general public.

The event targets a diverse audience, including young professionals, students, innovators, environmental experts and organisations interested in sustainability and digital innovation. By bringing together these groups, GreenHack fosters cross-sector collaboration and encourages new approaches to environmental challenges.

Participation in the event is free of charge.

GreenHack has been organised annually since 2021 and has become a recognised platform for connecting sustainability challenges with actionable solutions. The 2026 edition continues this mission by focusing on the role of technology and innovation in supporting a nature-positive and resilient future.
