Description
The event we have proposed as EU Green week event is a Conference “Implementing circular economy with EU Ecolabel” (please see draft programme attached in the application package) consisting of three parts dedicated to circular economy and water resilience.
Firstly, speakers at the Conference will focus on opportunities for voluntary schemes within circular economy such as EU Ecolabel which connects market actors to the main political objectives of the EU Green Deal, such as reaching climate neutrality by 2050, shifting to a circular economy and reaching zero pollution ambition for toxic-free environment (including water environment), thus allowing consumers and businesses to take an active part in the green transition.
Second part of the Conference will focus on Greenwashing and how it impacts water environment (special focus on water resilience).
Third part of the Conference will focus on corporate perspective on the Green claims and sustainable management. This part will include several success stories of the Green labels (special focus on water resilience).
Additionally last part of the Conference (before opening of the EU Ecolabel Showroom) will include presentation by the University of Latvia Hydrogeology institute, MSc. env.sci. Inga Retiķe (not included in draft programme) of the project dedicated to new technology of water clean-up in lake in natural parks.
Last presentation mentioned above replace presentation mentioned in the draft programme “Production of seaweed derived bioplastics/Microcontroller based adaptive system for solar collector parameters Management”.
