LIFE ABATE Open Day

  • Visits

This event aims to present the LIFE ABATE pilot, an innovative solution for air treatment in municipal waste management plants. The event will take place at Ecoparc 3 in Sant Adrià del Besòs, a facility of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area where the proposed solution has started to be tested.

The aim of the event is to show how advanced technological solutions can contribute to reducing the environmental and economic impact of mechanical-biological treatment plants by improving the removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odours, as well as reducing energy consumption and operational costs.

The event will combine technical presentations with a guided visit to the pilot in operation, allowing participants to learn first-hand about the design, operational integration and expected benefits of the LIFE ABATE system under real operating conditions.

The activity is aimed at municipal technicians, waste managers, policymakers, researchers, environmental consultants, industrial sector professionals and specialised media interested in innovative solutions for circular economy and air quality improvement.

Through the real-scale demonstration of a circular and energy-efficient technology, the event will contribute to raising awareness of practical pathways towards more sustainable and resilient waste management systems aligned with the European Union’s climate and environmental objectives, while also fostering knowledge exchange and replication potential in other European regions.
