Description
The main aim of LIFE DICCA is to increase the climate change resilience of ecosystems on the Danube Island.
To this end, a large number of projects and measures - such as environmentally friendly sheep grazing, the creation of wind turbine-operated pond biotopes, the establishment of new habitats for endangered species, sediment management measures or the implementation of citizen science projects for environmental education - have been developed and implemented over the past six years.
The insights gained from the project are intended to be successfully applicable to other ecosystems in Vienna and to other European cities.
