Description
Clean air and healthy aquatic ecosystems are inherently interconnected. In the outdoor game "Lufcik on the Trail of Clean Air," we not only emphasize the importance of air protection but also illustrate how air quality affects water quality, and vice versa.
On the map, locations where tasks and puzzles are hidden are marked. Each correct solution brings participants closer to guessing the main password. In the quest to find answers to the most pressing questions regarding air and water protection, participants will be accompanied by the Śląskich family: mother Anita, father Michał, daughter Julka, son Antek, and grandfather Krzysztof, well-known throughout the province from an educational-information campaign. Guiding them through this extraordinary adventure will be Lufcik – a lovable parrot, the symbol of Silesian province's fight for good environmental quality.
Participants in the game acquire knowledge about water being an incredibly vital component for all life forms on Earth. Rivers, lakes, and wetlands are home to plants and animals, and clean water is crucial for maintaining the health of aquatic ecosystems.
The content of the puzzles for participants to solve demonstrates that water quality also has a significant impact on air quality. Water pollutants can seep into the soil, contaminating it and destroying natural terrestrial habitats. Exercises performed during the game explain that air and water pollution can lead to loss of biodiversity and negatively impact the health of humans and animals.
Additionally, during the game, participants will learn that droughts can be caused not only by climate change but also by changes in water quality. The drying up of water reservoirs may result from water pollution, which in turn can lead to a decrease in the amount of drinking water available for humans and animals, and further deterioration of air quality due to the release of toxic substances from drying reservoirs.
The game "Lufcik on the Trail of Clean Air" not only engages players in fun and adventure but also educates them about the complex relationships between air quality and aquatic ecosystems, water purity, and the threats associated with droughts and worsening air quality, which we breathe. It is an excellent opportunity to understand the importance of maintaining balance in the natural environment for our own health and well-being.
