Description
Events within the framework of Malopolska Green Week 2024: We Save Water! will target various social groups from youth, through local governments, to the Internet community. The regional installment of Green Week 2024 is intended to highlight the challenges of water management in the local context of climate change.
To this purpose, both online and stationary events will be organised throughout the Malopolska region on 3-7 June 2024. In each county of Malopolska, Green Week 2024 will start with thematic lessons in elementary schools. More than 400 children will learn why water is one of the treasures of modern times and how it can be saved in everyday life. High school students will be able to participate in a series of 3 online workshops.
Their topics will focus on global and local water resources, water conservation in everyday life and the impact of climate change on the water cycle in nature. The classes will be conducted online with the help of Malopolska Education Cloud The "Aqua in futurum" conference will be held stationary in Krakow, the capital of the Malopolska region, and will be aimed at representatives of local governments.
Experts from local universities and scientific units will be invited to deliver lectures. The following panel discussion will include representatives of farmers, entrepreneurs and local governments. There will be no shortage of information on subsidies available for investment in water conservation and blue infrastructure.
The topics of the need to conserve water and deal with excess water during violent weather events caused by climate change will also be covered on social media such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
