Nature at Work in Cities is a 60-minute online EU Green Week 2026 partner event bringing together experts from across Arup to share project-based perspectives on how nature works as a living system in urban environments.
The webinar will explore how nature-based solutions contribute to climate adaptation, water management, biodiversity enhancement and human health, moving beyond green space towards nature as essential urban infrastructure — and examining the financial, policy and design investments required to make that shift a reality.
Through short, focused presentations, speakers from different disciplines — including landscape, ecology, water, climate resilience and urban design — will illustrate how nature-positive outcomes are delivered in practice across real projects, offering concrete examples of what effective investment in nature looks like on the ground.
The session will conclude with a moderated discussion highlighting key lessons from delivery, the value of multidisciplinary collaboration, and how cities can move from strategy to implementation — with particular attention to the enabling conditions, funding mechanisms and cross-sector partnerships that make sustainable investment in urban nature viable at scale.
The event is aimed at policymakers, urban practitioners, environmental professionals, researchers and other stakeholders interested in nature-based solutions and resilient city making.
