New Urban Habits – Romania's first urban sustainability festival

new Urban Habits' is Romania's first festival dedicated to the future of cities, organised by UrbanizeHub in Bucharest on 20–21 June 2026.
 
The festival brings together urban professionals, public authorities, international experts, communities and citizens around one shared goal: accelerating sustainable urban habits. It translates SDG 11 and SDG 12 into concrete experiences, connecting public policies with urban reality through talks, workshops, guided urban tours, circular economy activations, art and culture.
 
Cities are where the investment in nature is won or lost. The choices we make about how we move, consume, build and share urban space have a direct impact on biodiversity, air quality and the natural systems that sustain urban life. 'new Urban Habits' approaches this not through abstract policy debate but through lived experience, showing residents, professionals and decision-makers what a nature-positive city actually feels like. From urban biodiversity and sustainable fashion to circular design and community stewardship of shared spaces, the festival turns the principle of investing in nature into habits people can take home.
 
The 2026 edition features 24+ speakers from across Europe, 20+ workshops, urban tours, immersive art installations, live concerts and a dedicated children's area. The festival applies what it preaches: prioritising existing outdoor spaces, encouraging active mobility, supporting local businesses and using circular materials throughout.
