Description
Ecoindustria is a supra-municipal project launched in 2016, co-led by the municipalities of the Llobregat Delta—Viladecans, El Prat, Gavà, Sant Boi, and Castelldefels. Its main objective is to provide direct support to industrial companies in these municipalities to initiate and/or consolidate their transition toward a circular economy, positioning the Delta region as a benchmark in this field. This support takes the form of awareness-raising activities, capacity building, and tailored advisory services. It includes identifying circular projects and solutions, and mobilising and aligning key stakeholders, actors, and local resources that can help drive this economic model in the area, including circular economy consultancies, communication agencies, technology centres, universities, research institutions, and business and municipal entities.
One of the programme's key lines of action is the organisation of participatory workshops with local companies and stakeholders, addressing specific topics to support industrial businesses in implementing circular business models. As part of EU Green Week 2025, we propose hosting one of the various workshops we organise throughout the year, specifically, ‘opportunities for industrial symbiosis in the Delta Region’. The workshop aims to: understand the strategic and regulatory framework at the European level regarding the circular economy, with a focus on industrial symbiosis; identify and define opportunities and solutions for industrial symbiosis in the Delta region; and scale up one or more identified initiatives related to symbiosis and waste.
The event is addressed to companies from the five municipalities, preferably those engaged in industrial activity, construction, or services. It is a theoretical-practical workshop including the following content: regulatory framework, opportunities, and challenges; opportunities for industrial symbiosis in the Delta region; group dynamics to identify and define symbiosis solutions based on the activities and specific circumstances of participating companies; and best practices, with local companies presenting and sharing their industrial symbiosis projects.
