Description
Art and ecology meet on a single canvas! 'Recycling through posters. In the land of color and scent' is a visual arts competition for students in grades 4-8, demonstrating how powerful an image can be in shaping awareness. The goal of the competition is to inspire young artists to reflect on how recycling can shape the planet’s future and how circular actions contribute to better air quality and resource conservation.
Students will create posters promoting recycling and the idea of reusing materials. Their challenge is to use colours, symbols, and visual storytelling to illustrate why recycling is a necessity, not just a choice.
A jury panel, including the school principal, the school anti-smog team’s mentor, two team representatives, and an eco-advisor, will evaluate the submitted works. The best posters will be presented during the official opening of the Green Lab – 'Recycling through posters. In the land of color and scent', and students will receive awards recognising their creativity and environmental engagement.
Competition finale – A schoolwide ecological picnic
The winners will be announced at a special picnic, where students can admire the award-winning posters and take part in games and workshops related to recycling. The official opening of the Green Lab is the perfect opportunity to showcase how nature, education, and art can work together to inspire environmental action.
Why participate?
A poster is a powerful visual message that captures attention and provokes thought. Through this competition, students will:
- Enhance their ecological awareness and understanding of the circular economy.
- Learn how art influences societal attitudes and inspires change.
- Actively contribute to environmental protection in their school and local community.
'Recycling through posters. In the land of color and scent' is more than just a contest. It is an opportunity to reflect on how our daily choices impact the environment and what each of us can do to make the world cleaner and more sustainable.
This event is organised as part of the LIFE project 'Silesia. Blue Sky Restored.'
