Description
Circular economy is the main focus area of the Technical University of Clausthal (TUC). It is highly significant for the historically renowned mining region of Harz in Lower Saxony, Germany. The region and TUC are now known for their excellent technological capabilities for the transition towards circularity. The network of closely collaborating industrial clusters ensures the efficient transfer of technologies to industry, while TUC is taking the next step towards the transformation of society into a circular model.
This event aims to critically reflect on the possibilities for the efficient establishment of a circular economy, considering the principles of the economy of common goods, while engaging in an open discussion with broader society. The event will begin with a festive keynote speech by Christian Felber, the pioneer of the economy of common goods. Following that, an open discussion round with various stakeholders and citizens will take place, using innovative engagement formats.
The panel will discuss the role of citizens in the circular economy, consumer behaviour, recycling technologies and their implementation, as well as broader socio-technical transformation potentials within the circular economy, alongside the development of efficient political frameworks.
