Seeds of change: KCETB’s regional commitment to a nature-positive future

  • Conferences and summits

Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board (KCETB), a statutory education provider in Ireland, will lead a region-wide biodiversity enhancement initiative during EU Green Week 2026. The Climate Action and Sustainability Implementation Group of KCETB will distribute wildflower seeds to more than 40 KCETB locations, including centres, post-primary schools and administrative offices across Kilkenny and Carlow.

This initiative empowers students, staff, educators and local communities to actively invest in nature by creating pollinator-friendly spaces and restoring local biodiversity. Through planting activities, awareness-raising and shared learning across the organisation, KCETB will demonstrate how simple, community-driven actions contribute to a nature-positive future.

The event is designed as a practical, educational and collaborative contribution to EU Green Week 2026’s theme of ‘Investing in Nature’, showcasing how small-scale, regionally coordinated actions can generate genuine environmental and social benefits.
