Description
EU Green Week 2025 partner event ‘Sustainability at the Bildungscampus’
How green services contribute to the vision of an emission-free Bildungscampus in Heilbronn
Guided walk at the Bildungscampus
Background information: Sustainability is crucial for the Bildungscampus as it serves as an innovative hub for lifelong learning and scientific research. By embracing sustainable practices, the campus not only tackles current ecological challenges but also sets a benchmark for future generations, ensuring a livable environment and fostering a culture of responsibility and awareness. Under the motto #VisionSustainability2030, the Bildungscampus has developed a clear strategy to become carbon-neutral by 2030. This vision is guided by five key action fields, aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- Climate neutrality & energy autarky: advancing towards a climate-neutral and largely energy-autonomous operation by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the use of renewable energy sources.
- Climate resilience & biodiversity: preparing for meteorological changes and contributing to the preservation and promotion of local flora and fauna.
- Circularity & sharing economy: driving the circularity of the campus to minimise resource consumption, significantly increase recycling rates, and reduce residual waste through effective waste separation and recycling.
- People: placing people at the centre by supporting them on their educational journey, enhancing the quality of life on campus, and fostering an inclusive environment.
