Description

This partner event will bring together diverse stakeholders to highlight the relevance of the Nexus concept for the management of resources in line with the EU policies. The event will highlight the Nexus in supporting policy coherence and integration to make resources in Europe sustainably manageable under climate-neutral policies by 2050, and thus promoting management, which would consider both synergies and trade-offs, minimising siloed policies and boosting sustainable approaches, thus turning climate and environmental challenges into opportunities and making the management of resources a strength for Europe.
The event will provide a platform to share the main achievements of the network, including scientific advancements, methodological innovations, stakeholder engagement strategies reached through regional stakeholder forums, and contributions to EU sustainability goals.
Objectives:
- Presenting key outcomes and lessons learned from NexusNet activities
- Discussing how Nexus thinking can support the implementation of the European Green Deal and the SDGs
- Exploring opportunities for future collaboration through e-community of practice, policy uptake, and capacity building across Europe and globally
The session is targeted at a broad audience, including:
- Policymakers at EU, national, and regional levels
- Researchers and academics in environmental science, economics, and governance
- Civil society and non-governmental organisations
