Wodzisław student eco-rally

  • Conferences and summits

Can learning about the environment turn into a real adventure? During the Wodzisław student eco-rally, primary school students from Wodzisław Śląski will set out on an outdoor expedition filled with ecological challenges, riddles and tasks requiring teamwork.

Participants will be divided into small teams that will follow a designated route leading from the Trzy Wzgórza Family Recreation Park to the Balaton Recreation Centre. At various checkpoints along the route, young participants will face educational tasks related to environmental protection and the challenges of building a nature-friendly economy, discovering along the way that investing in nature begins with the knowledge and values we pass on to the next generation.

During the eco-rally, students will tackle topics such as air protection, renewable energy sources, waste segregation, biodiversity and responsible use of natural resources. Each station on the route will provide an opportunity to gain new knowledge, solve an environmental puzzle or complete a task requiring observation and cooperation within the team, helping participants understand how these issues connect to the broader goal of building an economy that works with nature rather than against it.

The outdoor game format allows participants to learn through action and direct experience. Physical activity in the open air, discovering nature and solving tasks together help students better understand how everyday human choices affect the environment and air quality, and how even small individual actions contribute to the collective investment in healthier, more resilient natural surroundings.

The Wodzisław student eco-rally also promotes physical activity and encourages participants to discover local recreational and natural areas. Through this format, the event combines environmental education with fun and youth integration, fostering a sense of connection to and responsibility for the local natural environment.

The eco-rally shows that building environmental awareness among the younger generation is one of the most important investments in the future of the environment. The knowledge, habits and sense of responsibility that young people develop through experiences like this one are the foundation on which long-term, community-driven investment in nature is built.

The event is implemented as part of the project 'Silesia. Blue Sky Restored'.

Host: Patrycja Janik, eco-manager of the Wodzisław Śląski Municipality.
