Young people for clean energy: a school adventure with the region’s transformation - Workshop

  • Mokymas ir praktiniai seminarai

Can the economy of the future develop dynamically while at the same time protecting the natural environment? During the workshop ‘Young people for clean energy: a school adventure with the region’s transformation - Workshop,’ primary school students will discover that the answer to this question is: yes.

The meeting will focus on the transformations currently taking place in the energy sector and the economy. In the first part of the workshop, students will learn about the history of the region’s energy development and find out how the economic model previously based mainly on fossil fuels is changing. Participants will see how the development of renewable energy sources influences new jobs, technological development and the improvement of air quality.

During the presentation, examples of investments in green energy and solutions used in modern cities and regions will also be presented. Thanks to this, students will see that the energy transition is not a distant vision of the future but a process that is already shaping the economy and the environment today.

The second part of the event will be filled with a dynamic educational game ‘Clean Energy.’ Students, working in teams, will make decisions concerning energy investments and the development of environmentally friendly infrastructure. The game will show how different choices influence both economic development and the condition of the natural environment.

The workshops aim to develop the environmental awareness of the younger generation and to show that the future of the economy depends on the ability to combine technological innovation with care for nature.

The event is implemented as part of the project ‘Silesia. Blue Sky Restored’.

Host: Magdalena Kopeć, eco-manager of the Godów municipality.
