The event is organised for EU Green Week 2026 under the theme ‘Investing in a Nature-Positive Economy’ to highlight how economic development can go hand in hand with the protection and restoration of nature. The main goal is to raise awareness about integrating nature-positive practices into daily life and transforming this awareness into concrete action.
The event will be held face-to-face at the Selçuk University Coordination Office over two days, targeting primarily university students. In addition to informative sessions, a variety of interactive workshops are planned to enhance students’ engagement and reinforce their knowledge. These include:
- tree planting activities;
- a ‘green campus’ photography workshop;
- a creative ‘a day in 2035’ scenario activity; and
- an ‘investing in nature’ poster design workshop.
Thematic presentations will also be hosted in collaboration with different faculties. Contributions from the Faculty of Agriculture will focus on sustainable agriculture practices, while sessions from the Faculty of Architecture will explore the design of sustainable living spaces. Additional presentations will address the concept of the planetary diet and discuss how investing in nature can strengthen the economy.
