Can investing in nature begin with a single plant and a conversation with a neighbour? In Przyrów, the answer is definitely yes. The event ‘Sow the future’ brings residents together to combine environmental knowledge, practical action and community cooperation for the benefit of nature.
During the green consultations, participants will learn simple ways to support the environment in their immediate surroundings. Conversations with an eco-manager and other participants will focus on topics such as creating pollinator-friendly gardens, establishing small flower meadows and planting greenery that supports biodiversity and improves air quality. The meeting will also offer an opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas among residents interested in creating greener spaces around their homes.
An important part of the event will be the neighbourhood exchange of plants and seedlings. Participants will be encouraged to bring plants from their own gardens and share them with others. In this way, many plants will find new places to grow, while residents will be able to enrich their gardens with new species.
The programme will also include a practical workshop session. Participants will learn how to sow seeds and plant seedlings in pots prepared by the organisers. Each participant will be able to take home a plant they have planted themselves – a symbol of care for nature and a reminder that even small actions matter.
At the end of the event, participants will take part in an environmental quiz, which will summarise the knowledge gained about plants, biodiversity and air quality in an engaging and enjoyable way. The most active participants will receive small project-related gifts.
‘Sow the future’ demonstrates that investing in nature can begin with simple actions – conversations, exchanging plants, planting together and building environmental awareness within the community. Initiatives like this bring nature closer to people and encourage residents to work together for clean air and a greener future for their municipality.
The event is implemented as part of the project ‘Silesia. Blue sky restored.’
