Born in 1975 in Tehran, Nathalie Lhayani has, during the last 25 years, dedicated her career to the economic and financial sustainable transformation, at the French, European, and international levels.

After obtaining a postgraduate degree in economics and international relations at the Geneva Graduate Institute of International Studies, she began her career in 1999 at the WTO and the International Center for Trade and Sustainable Development, where she worked on the links between global trade and sustainable development, as well as financial services trade negotiations.

Between 2012 and 2019 she held various positions related economic, financial and environmental affairs at the EU and French institutional level.

Since 2019, as Chief Sustainability Officer at the Caisse des Dépôts Group, she has been driving and coordinating the Group's ecological transformation policy to support national public policies on attenuation, adaptation, biodiversity, water, social cohesion and good governance, as well as its responsible investment strategy. She also ensures the transparency and management of the Group's ESG impacts. 

She has contributed to strengthening the financing of national ecological transformation objectives by developing, with the Group's entities, a 100 billion euro plan over 5 years to serve the objectives of the national ecological planning roadmap France Nation Verte

As a member of the Board of Directors of CDC Biodiversité, she promotes a systemic vision of ecological transformation issues, combining the fight against climate change, the preservation of ecosystems and natural resources, and social justice issues.

Nathalie Lhayani received the insignia of Knight in the French National Order of Merit.
