Dr Stuart Poore is Executive Director, Climate and Nature at AstraZeneca, where he leads the company’s global environmental sustainability strategy. His responsibilities include AstraZeneca’s Ambition Zero Carbon program, AZ Forest, the company’s global reforestation and restoration initiative, as well as water stewardship and biodiversity action. Under his leadership, AstraZeneca has strengthened its position as a leader on climate and nature within the pharmaceutical sector.
Before joining AstraZeneca, Stuart was Chief Environment Officer at Cognizant, a Fortune 200 technology professional services company, where he led climate and environmental strategy across its global operations.
He brings 25 years of experience in sustainability across the private and non-profit sectors, including leadership roles at Canon EMEA, Virgin Media, QinetiQ, and WWF, where he worked with major businesses on sustainability transformation. Stuart holds a PhD in International Relations and is a former Chair of the Global Association of Corporate Sustainability Officers.
