Organised by ACR+ and the CSSBoost project as a partner event of the EU Green Week 2026, the event will bring together exemplary initiatives and projects from across Europe which are reimagining value chains and demonstrating novel circular systemic solutions.
Agricultural residues, urban waste waters, end of life vehicles, plastics, and many other resources keep being undermined and underutilised across Europe, yet have a considerable potential to be the backbone of industrial symbiosis, circular systemic solutions and enablers for Europe to be climate neutral and resource efficient.
To secure the uptake of such solutions and to make it a mainstream, many complementary steps and actions need to be taken - rethinking business models, providing relevant and appropriate trainings and education, embedding those solutions in regional circular economy strategies, and reinforcing public procurement for innovation, being some of them.
This is why the events wants to combine the proposed circular systemic solutions with insights from speakers and participants who work on the uptake of those. Finally, a few regions, who are leading the way. By doing so, the event will highlight the advantages of circular systemic solutions from the perspective of improving Europe’s resilience, competitiveness, and nature-positive economy.
What to expect?
Novel circular systemic solutions will be tackled through three sessions:
CCRI projects showing the way: Emerging from the CIRCNET cluster of CCRI projects which have a lot in common, yet each being unique in its way - either in terms of investigated value chains or the approach for their uptake, consolidation and reinforcement, this session will showcase their differences and achievements.
Drivers for the uptake of circular systemic solutions: For a successful uptake of circular systemic solution, many blocks need to be put in place and complement each other. This session will look at public procurement, business models and strategic approaches to embedding circular value chains in the society.
Regions on the frontline: Acting as demonstrators and being up to date with relevant developments Europe-wide, regions take a big responsibility and role to showcase and test many of those drivers for the uptake of circular systemic solutions. This session allows a selection of such regions to share their stories, lessons learnt and much more.
