Workshops: 'A school full of energy'

  • Εκπαιδευτικά σεμινάρια και εργαστήρια

Where does electricity come from and how can it be used responsibly? During the workshop series ‘School full of energy’, primary school students explore the basics of how the energy system works and discover why saving energy and developing renewable energy sources are important elements of climate protection and a modern economy.

Designed for students in grades 4–6, the workshops take the form of interactive educational activities. Participants are introduced to the concept of energy, the origins of electricity and the differences between traditional and renewable energy sources. Solutions such as solar, wind and hydropower are presented in an accessible way, highlighting their role in reducing emissions and supporting a more sustainable energy system.

A key element of the sessions is hands-on learning through experiments and demonstrations. Students assemble educational kits that show how wind, water and solar energy can be transformed into electricity, allowing them to understand in practice how renewable energy technologies function.

Participants also explore how to reduce energy consumption in everyday life, both at home and at school. Together, they identify opportunities within the classroom to lower electricity use and learn simple habits that contribute to more responsible energy consumption, showing that even small actions can make a meaningful difference for the environment.

The workshops conclude with an interactive energy quiz that reinforces the knowledge gained throughout the sessions. Through this experience, students understand that responsible energy use is closely linked to environmental protection, air quality and the development of a sustainable economy.

The workshop series ‘School full of energy’ shows that investing in nature begins with knowledge and conscious everyday decisions, encouraging young participants to adopt habits that support a more sustainable future.
