This webinar, organised as part of the EU Green Week 2025, will highlight advancements in bio-based and circular plastics through the POLYMEER and FURIOUS projects. These initiatives, funded by the CBE Joint Undertaking, are developing sustainable polymer solutions to replace fossil-based plastics, supporting the transition to a competitive, clean, and circular economy.
The event will explore how novel bio-based polymers derived from renewable sources can be designed for recyclability and biodegradability, targeting applications in the biomedical, electronic and industrial packaging, automotive, underwater, and agricultural sectors. Participants will gain insights into innovative biopolymer production processes, the role of industrial symbiosis, and the potential of bioeconomy-driven circularity.
